Faculty Jazz Players to Perform

Eastern New Mexico University's faculty jazz players will perform on Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 7 p.m. in Ground Zero in the Campus Union Building. The performance is free and open to the public. The performance will also be a live multi-track recording.

“Jazz is a music that has a tendency to move people,” Chris Beaty, assistant professor of music, said. The performance will cover music from the 30’s and 40’s, such as swing and bee-bop to current contemporary sound.

“The atmosphere will be different from the normal concerts students attend, more relaxed,” Beaty said. He hopes students will come and enjoy some live entertainment.

Several ENMU faculty will play in the performance, including: Chris Beaty, saxophone; John Kennedy, trumpet; Dustin Seifert, trombone and euphonium; Jim Constantopoulos, bass, and Neil Rutland on the drums.

For more information, call Beaty at 505.562.2471.
