These Announcements were submitted to the Monday Memo by University Community Members. Announcement submissions must be received by Thursday at noon for publication on the following Monday. Extensive Maintenance in All Computer Labs Continue
The University Computer Center will continue performing extensive maintenance in all computer labs until January 13, 2002. The labs will be selectively closed and rebuilt during this time. Please ensure that projects, and individual teaching files are saved and copied to diskette or CDs as the rebuild will completely remove all files from the local computer hard drives. Computers will be available for use at this time during posted UCC hours. As soon as the labs are completed, they will be released and available for scheduling through Jolene Duran at extension 2468. If you have academic software that you would like installed on the computers for the spring semester, please contact one of the lab supervisors at extension 2284. Thank you for your patience and support!

Announcing the Online Course Helpdesk
The University Computer Center has a new Online Course Helpdesk to assist you with Online Course concerns. Contact us concerning issues such as connectivity, logon problems, file transfer or using the Blackboard system! The phone number for the Online Course Helpdesk is 562.HOTT (562.4688) or you can send us an e-mail message at Lab.Desk@enmu.edu. Our new Online Course Helpdesk web site link is located on the Course introductory page! The Online Course Helpdesk hours are: Monday - Thursday: 8 a.m. - 11 p.m. Friday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday 12 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Defensive Driving Course
The Defensive Driving Course will be offered on January 28th and 29th or January 30th and 31st in the College of Business 109 beginning at 6:00pm. All university employees or students who will be driving or who expect to be driving a university vehicle will need to take the class both days. All persons wishing to attend this class must pre-register with the University Police Department at West 3rd and South Avenue K by January 28th, 2002. This class is offered free to university employees and students. A charge of ten dollars ($10.00), to cover the cost of the manual is required for others who may wish to take the course.

Faculty Resource Center and CETP Center
The Faculty Resource Center/CETP Center is here to help you develop your classroom presentations. The FRC/CETP Center is located in the Education building, Room 130. Hardware available includes: Video and Digital Cameras, color scanners, CD burner drives, video capture card and VCR, color printers, zip drives, and tons or software, such as Adobe Photoshop and Premier, Photo Deluxe, Dreamweaver, Microsoft Office 2000, FrontPage 2000, Ulead Movie Studio and much more. Our hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The University Computer Center Hours for January 14-May 10
Monday - Thursday: 7 a.m. to 3 a.m.
Friday: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday: 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Sunday: 12 p.m. to 12 a.m.

ENMU Women Post Registration Party
The ENMU Women's organization would like to invite faculty, staff, and administrators to their annual post-registration party from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 11, 2002. This year's "We're b-a-a-a-ck!" get together will be held at the home of Keytha and K. Paul Jones at 509 East 17th Street, Portales. Calling All Phi Theta Kappans
All Phi Theta Kappans interested in starting an Alumni Association here at ENMU are asked to contact David Rodriguez at David Rodriguez@PTK.org or Bernita Nutt at bernita.nutt@enmu.edu. There will be a planning meeting on January 17, 2002 in Education 116 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. The International President of Phi Theta Kappa, Mr. Warren T. Jackson will be on campus January 24 through the 27 for the alumni association chartering ceremony and as a Keynote Speaker for the Leadership Conference hosted by ENMU "Eastern's Emerging Leaders."

Tumbling
- with Kara D'Agostino for a 15-wk semester in GA-11 wearing leotard or shorts and t-shirt with bare feet or tumbling shoes (please no socks). The fee is $75.00.
a) Beginning Tumbling - beginning level for ages 3-5 years Thursdays, January 17-May 2, 5:00-5:50p.m.
b) Intermediate Tumbling - beginning to intermediate level for ages 6-12 years Thursdays, January 17-May 2, 6:00-7:00p.m.
c) Intermediate/Advanced Tumbling - for ages 8 years and up Thursdays, January 17-May 2, 7:15-8:15p.m.
d) Routine Tumbling - individual and group moves for dance and cheerleading for ages 12 years and up Mondays, January 14-May 6, 8:00-9:00p.m.

Kwon Shu Karate - for ages 7 years through adult with black belt Davey Close for a 16-wk semester in the Aztec Room, CUB, Tuesdays/Thursdays, 7:00-8:00p.m, January 15-May 9. The fee is $130.00 prepaid ($10.00 discount) or $35.00 monthly.

Aqua Aerobics
- with Kristi Jones, Tuesdays/Thursdays, January 22-April 18, 6:00-6:50p.m, Natatorium. Registration is $90 prepaid ($6.00 discount) or $8.00 per rotation (Tuesday/Thursday).

Speedy One Nighter Cross Stitch
- for beginners with Victoria Garrett, Cozy Cottage Cross Stitch Shoppe, 119 S. Main St., Tuesday, January 22, 6:30-9:30p.m. Registration is $7.00 with a kit fee of $5.00 payable to the instructor.

Phlebotomy Technique Training
- 40-hour lecture/120-hour clinical for this certificate course with Mike Blakenship, CMT, Thursdays, 5:00-9:00p.m, JWLA-121, January 24-April 4 (and completion of clinical at Plains Regional Medical Center-Clovis). Proof of immunizations and liability insurance required. Registration is $275.00. Textbooks available at the ENMU Bookstore.

Hip-Hop
- with Bryan Hahn for a 13-wk semester, GA-11, wearing comfortable clothing/shoes to move in. The fee is $55.00.
a) Beginning to Intermediate Hip-Hop - for ages 8-14 years, Saturdays, 10:45a.m. -12:15p.m, January 26-May 4.
b) Beginning to Intermediate Hip-Hop - for ages 15 years and up, Wednesdays/Fridays, 5:00-5:50p.m, January 30-May 3.

Ballet/Tap/Jazz/Pointe
- 13 weeks beginning the week of January 28 for ages 3 through adult with Summer Lasiter, GA-11. The fee is $55.00 and a $5.00 recital fee per family. Please call Extended Learning for specific class times at 562.2165.

Yoga and Toning Stretch
- 12 weeks with Jill Pribyl Tuesdays/Thursdays, January 29-April 25, 12:20-12:50pm, UTC-161. Please bring mat or blanket. The fee is $36.00.

Wedding Planning

The Safety of Investing-Real or Unreal?

Valentine CD Photo Album
- learn basic power point, scanner and cd writer use while you create your very own CD photo album with Ellen Gardiner, UCC-107, Thursday, February 7, 6:00-8:30pm. Bring 3-5 personal photos--we furnish the CD! The fee is $30.00.

Getting Organized for a Heritage Album
- free Organization Book with the purchase of Organization ($20.00) and Negative Storage Kits ($14.00) with Kyla Gray, Creative Memories Consultant, Saturday, February 9, 9:00am-1:00pm, COB-128. The fee is $10.00.

Swimming
- for ages 4 and up with Red Cross Certified Instructors, Ben and Jared Zatorski and Kristi Jones, in four-day, two-week rotations, Mondays-Thursdays, 4:00-4:50pm, beginning February 11, March 4, March 25 and April 15, Natatorium. The fee is $40.00 and includes a Red Cross Card for the level passed.

Tatting
- lacemaking for ages 12 years through adult with Estella Rush, Mondays, 6:30-8:00pm, February 11-25, COB-156. Bring your own shuttle (or see instructor). The fee is only $12.00.

Four-Week Cross Stitch
- for beginning or advanced with Victoria Garrett, Cozy Cottage Cross Stitch Shoppe, 119 S Main St, Tuesdays, February 12-March 5, 6:30-9:30pm. The fee is $40.00 with a $21.20 kit fee payable to the instructor.

Beading
- take one or both of these classes, 6:30-8:30pm, COB-128 with author Jane Davis as seen on Creative Living. Registration for ages 12 years through adult for each class is $20.00 with a $7.00 supply kit payable to the instructor.

Tole Painting
