New Web Launching Soon The
new web page will be launched at the end of June and those that have
seen it are very impressed. The web staff thinks that the Eastern constituents
will be proud to show it to colleagues from other schools. In order
to provide a more consistent graphic image for Eastern, a new letterhead,
envelopes and other pieces have been redesigned to resemble the look
of the web. This is what ENMU will use this fall or as soon as University
Printing Services runs out of the existing stock. There will be a period
that ENMU will use both formats because of the need to use up old stock
across campus.
Please contact Communication Services at 562.2154 with questions or
feedback. Your input is appreciated.

Administrators' Evaluations Set for Fall
Since 2001, administrative employees have been evaluated by their
supervisors in March and April to finalize their contracts in May-June.
Employee evaluations of administrators in spring cannot be tallied and
transcribed in time for a March-April review; for example, supervisory
evaluations of administrators this spring will be using employee evaluations
of administrators completed in March 2001. So the Administrators' Evaluation
Committee, with the approval of Support, Professional and Faculty Senates,
has decided to move the evaluation process of administrators to fall.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact Linda Gies, Chair
of the Administrators' Evaluation Committee, at 562.2642, or by email:
linda.gies@enmu.edu.
Walk the Talk Scheduled Walk
the Talk, a technology immersion program, will be held for the fourth
year at ENMU-Portales, July 30 through August 3, and Lake Arthur Schools
May 29-31 and July 25-26. Walk the Talk is a three-hour graduate level
class supporting teachers and administrators as they design quality
high-tech and online curriculum to use in schools. If you are working

integration in the classroom, this is the course for you.
Walk the Talk will provide hands-on instruction for teachers and administrators
as they learn to apply Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Access
etc.), Web-Design, Online Lesson Development, and Internet Tools in
classroom environments. Participants work on a computer the entire week
and are guided through a process of designing and using technology to
benefit students, parents and themselves.
Classes are facilitated by classroom teachers who have successfully
integrated technology into their classroom with diverse student populations.
Instructors show student examples and have many resources that participants
can use in their classrooms. All participants receive free copies of
Microsoft Office, instructional software and materials to use in their
classrooms.
Walk the Talk has a website to view some of the current work being produced
by teachers and administrators. The web address is http://errc.enmu.edu.
The fee for Walk the Talk includes the software, materials, three hours
