Door Decorating Contest
Bill Greenlees, president of the Support Senate, recently presented
Norma Stroik of the Athletic Department and her students, Kayne
Gutierrez and Dawn Reeves, with the winners pot of $48 for taking
top honors in the Support Senate Door Decorating Contest.
When contacted by the Monday Memo about her plans for the
windfall, Norma said she was going to take her workstudy students

and Cattle Baron with the deciding factor apparently being
what the special is.
The photo was taken by jack-of-all-trades Bonnie Sink.

ENMU MBA to Be
Offered Online Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU)
is announcing plans to offer the Master of Business Administration
(MBA) program online. According to Dr. Gerry Huybregts, dean of
the ENMU College of Business, offering the ENMU MBA online is a
natural progression for the ENMU program. Currently, ENMU offers
the MBA through an instructional television system (ITV) that broadcasts
classes to Cannon AFB, Clovis, Hobbs, Roswell, and Ruidoso. Additionally,
ENMU will deliver MBA classes to Carlsbad using video conferencing
starting January 2004. Dr Lee Weyant, ENMU MBA coordinator, said
that ENMU will offer Organizational Behavior and International Marketing
during the spring semester. Students interested in registering for
these classes should complete registration by Jan. 9, 2004. Classes
will begin Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004. For more information about the
ENMU MBA Online program, call the ENMU Extended Learning Office
at 1.800.537.5376, extension 2352 or Dr. Lee Weyant at 505.562.2352,
Lee.weyant@enmu.edu.
Campus Closed
on January 2 The Portales campus will remain closed
on Jan. 2, 2004, which is the Friday immediately following the winter
break. The current approved holiday schedule for the break allows
us to close at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 23 and reopen at 8 a.m. on
Friday, Jan. 2. During this time, the heating in buildings will
be in conservation mode and the override function will be disabled.
We are doing this to reduce our energy costs.
Although we are encouraging people to take Friday, Jan. 2 off on
vacation leave, it is not mandatory. All staff who wish to work
on that day will report to Golden Library where alternate work assignments
will be given. Arrangements will be made for individuals who want
to take the day off but are within their first 3 months of employment
or who do not have one day of vacation leave accrued.
The university will automatically deduct 8 hours of vacation (or
the equivalent of one work day for part-time people) from all employees'
accrued leave unless they inform their supervisors that they wish
to work on Jan. 2. This notification will need to be made by Dec.
10. Please note that if you do not notify your supervisor of your
intent to work on January 2nd, the appropriate vacation deduction
will be automatically done - no paperwork will be required.
The ENMU-Roswell
Campus Will Be Open on Friday, January 2 Employees
who wish to take a vacation day on Jan. 2 are welcome to do so,
but all essential offices will need to be staffed so that campus
business can be conducted and students and the general public can
still be served. Any questions regarding operations on Jan. 2 can
be directed to the appropriate dean for your area.
