Lifelong Wellness
Class Exercise Course specially designed for 30
plus. ENMU employees can recieve a tution wavier for this class
and senior citizen only have to pay $5; others can benefit for Eastern's
standard tuition rate.
Anyone 30 or older can enroll in the course;
on-site registration will be offered June 30-July 3 (the first four
days of the class), from 6 a.m. - 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. in
the Wallace Maxwell Physical Activity Center (MaxPAC) exercise center,
located downstairs in Greyhound Arena, Room 88. In order to take
this class, employees must apply for admission, but all necessary
paperwork will be available during registration times. [more]
ENMU to Begin
Second Four-Week Session on June 30 Eastern New
Mexico University in Portales will begin its second four-week summer
session on Monday, June 30. The session will end on July 25.
Currently enrolled students may register
at the Office of the Registrar in the Administration Building. Those
not yet enrolled should call Eastern's Office of Admission at 1.800.FOR.ENMU.
Eastern also offers a number of courses
at remote sites through instructional television.
Trio Encantada
A musical group from Eastern New Mexico University
featuring three faculty members, has just completed a very busy
2002-2003 year. The musicians are Dr. Tracy Carr, oboist; Dr. Jeanie
Wozencraft-Ornellas, lyric soprano; and Dr. Mark Dal Porto, pianist
and composer.
In addition to presenting individual solo
recitals, the Trio presented recitals in Portales and Roswell, N.M.;
on the Southwest (NM) Symphony Chamber Series; at The Breakers Mansion,
Newport, R.I.; at the Midwest College Music Society Conference in
Waco, Texas, and at the Rocky Mountain College Music Society Conferences
in Laramie, Wy., and Denver, Colo.
In June 2003, Trio Encantada presented
the world premier performance of Mark Dal Porto's Three Nocturnes
for Oboe, Voice, and Piano at the 2003 International Double Reed
Society Conference at University of North Carolina in Greensboro.
The Trio then presented A University Music
School Assessment Strategy: A Comprehensive Approach for Music Majors
at the International College Music Society annual conference in
San Juan and Muelle, Costa Rica.

Tutoring Opportunity
For Chidren Grades 1-6 ELED 380 students at ENMU
are looking for children to tutor Grades 1-6 in the month of July
for a 16 hour practicum. If your child would benefit from some one-on-one
tutoring in reading, writing, and/or mathematics, please leave information
with Maria at 562.2491 concerning your child's name and age, parent/guardian
name, contact number, grade level, subject area for tutoring, and
time available to meet with tutor. There are limited spaces available.

demonstration of how it's done with 30-year veteran, Tim McGee,

One-Night Speedy Cross Stitch beginners' class with
Victoria Garrett, Cozy Cottage Cross Stitch Shoppe, 119 S Main St.,
will make a potpourri heart pillow Tuesday, June 24, 6:30 p.m. Registration
is $7 with a kit fee of $5, payable to the instructor. Please register

Partners in Tole Painting taught by Janice Lee for
adult/child (9 years and up) team with a bargain, price of only
$35 for both to make your own wooden, patriotic heart. The only
materials needed are water bowl, paper towels and brushes since
Janice is providing all other supplies within a $5 per team kit
fee, payable to the instructor. Plan to bring a sack lunch or break
