advance warning tour

On Tuesday, April 1 “The Advance Warning Tour” will rock the Ballroom at Eastern New mooney suzuki tourMexico University. The doors open at 7 p.m., the show starts at 7:30 and ends around 11:30. The free show is on a first-come, first-served basis. The Ballroom has a capacity of 1,000.

“The Advance Warning Tour,” sponsored by MTV2, Nokia and CMJ, features the bands “The Mooney Suzuki,” “Longwave,” “White Light Motorcade” and, most notably, “The Raveonettes.”

The Raveonettes have recently appelongwaveared on the Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien shows, as well as being featured in Rolling Stone. The magazine said, “Extremely self-confident Danish duo that makes serrated garage-rock candy combining the classic twang of rockabilly with blasts of fuzz-pedal fury."

“The Advance Warning Tour coming to ENMU is a by-product of us hosting the Lifehouse concert; the concert industry talks and now we’re on the board as a place to perform at,” said Will Kayatin, director of Student Activities and Organizations at ENMU. He added that talent companies actually call because of the success of the Lifehouse concertwhite light motorcade.

The Advance Warning Tour is usually a $100,000 show, but ENMU is only responsible for the production cost. “We handle production, space, marketing and being a host,” Will said. "The tour actually called us about bringing the show to Eastern.

“Activities offices usually don’t host major shows like this, so this is a rare opportunity for students and others to see some groups that are on the verge of making it big,” Will said.

For more information, call the ENMU Student Activities Office at 505.562.2631.

unpleasant employeeThe workshop will deal with such types as the "Antagonist," "Blameless Bob," "Whiner," "Thumb-Twiddler," "Tortoise," "Mr. Attitude" (such as Monday Memo editor), "Hand-Holder," Early Retiree," "Worrywart" and "Clock-Watcher." While the University has offered several workshops on how to document unacceptable employee behavior, this workshop is the first designed to assist supervisors in dealing effectively with such employees. These performance management methods will result in higher morale, fewer discipline problems and increased productivity.
