Defensive Driving Renewal Required Every Four Years – Renewal of defensive driving is required every four years. For "faculty and staff" that is in need to be recertified for defensive driving we have approximately two years to have this recertification completed. It does not have to be completed this year. We have ample time to have everyone including first-time students, faculty and staff to complete this training. The University Police Department is in the process of providing schedules to try to meet everyone's needs. These will include some day-time classes, along with some night-time class and if need be then we will have some classes on Saturday.

For personnel that need to renew their defensive driving, which is a four-hour class, those dates are: Oct. 21 from 5:30-9:30 p.m. and Oct. 28 from 1-5 p.m. Everyone needs to sign up at the University Police Department to get their material for the course.

General Comments

"You, write a misleading caption?? Never!" – ENMU-Roswell employee

"It was fun to just get out in the open space again (you know the feeling...of the wind blowing sand in your eyes...the smell of the stockyards). It brings back a lot of memories (mostly good), and makes me more appreciative of the great opportunities that I have had and the people that I have known (even if I didn't always realize it at the time). It also makes you think about your priorities; the slow pace of Portales was a refreshing break." – ENMU alumnus who came back for Homecoming from the West Coast

"Well, she does still limp a bit!" – ENMU-Roswell employee about Eva Watley, supervisor of Intramurals/Facilities at ENMU-Roswell who reported to the Monday Memo that she had torn her ACL and wouldn't be able to play basketball against the Portales campus this year – yet was spotted in a photo, submitted to the Memo's Candid Camera section, participating in an intramural football game

"The Monday Memo was as usual, ascerbic and awesome, except for me sitting in my lawn chair by the pool for my afternoon siesta: I wish! – ENMU-Roswell employee

Quote of the Day

"I like work; it fascinates me. I can sit and look at it for hours. I love to keep it by me: the idea of getting rid of it nearly breaks my heart." – Jerome K. Jerome
