General Comments

" I am a 1971 graduate from ENMU. My bachelor's degree was signed by then president Charles Meister. When I found this news (of his recent passing) on our Northern Arizona University website, I thought it is only fitting to send it on to you for your Monday Memo. I am sure President Meister left many friends there when he retired. Just last fall I had a great visit back to my alma mater and was hosted by M.E. Bolin and who is best known as "Meb" by his close friends and students. Not only did I learn Meb had retired and was living well these days, but he told me that Dr. Charles Meister has come to ENMU from NAU, where I now work. Dr. Meister came to ENMU to assume the presidency in or around 1966. My journey back to the ENMU campus was precipitated by my youngest daughter who now plays on the women's soccer team. I look forward to my future visits to ENMU and to watch the women's soccer team play!" – Al Henderson

"Back in the 'old day' the president would be 'dressed out' and on one of the teams!" – ENMU alumn (referring to President Gamble throwing out first ceremonial pitch at inter-campus softball game)

"That was a very pretty picture of the flowering plum tree through the second story window at ENMU." – ENMU-Roswell employee

"You must be BELOVED. If you took my picture from behind, I might be inclined to contract a hit on you." – ENMU-Roswell employee referring to "Mystery Photo" contest in last week's Monday Memo.

"It truly was a pleasure to come up there and act like a kid again for a couple of hours on your beautiful, immaculate field. We all had a blast, and we enjoyed the camraderie, too. We will certainly look forward to more such encounters in the future. You guys were great!" – ENMU-Roswell softball player

Quote of the Week

"It's good sportsmanship to not pick up lost golf balls while they are still rolling. " – Mark Twain
