Clarification About Taxes on Tuition Waivers – Several employees who have a bachelor's degree have expressed a desire to sign up for a Wellness course under the tuition waiver but are turned off by the misunderstanding they have to pay taxes on the tuition waiver. Please be advised that this is no longer true due to a new admission category established over a year ago – post-baccalaureate admission. Anyone with a bachelor's degree who wants to enroll only in undergraduate courses will be admitted under post-baccalaureate admission. You will not be taxed for any tuition waiver for an undergraduate class. Also, if you are paying for an undergraduate course, you will be charged at the undergraduate, not the graduate, rate.

But please note that no one in this category can take a graduate course. If you want to take a graduate course, you have to receive graduate admission. You will be charged graduate rates for all of your courses, including undergraduate courses, and any tuition waiver will be taxable.

TechTips – Helpful Hints for using ENMU Technology (courtesy of ITS Computing)

Computing
Hot-Key Henry tip for today (Ctrl key series): While in the Word application, have you ever wanted to quickly move through your document a word at a time? Some people will press the left or right error keys moving the cursor one character at a time until they get where they need to go. Hot-Key Henry is too impatient to do this; he has a hot-key to come to his and your rescue. To quickly move through the sentence or paragraph a word at a time, press and hold down the Ctrl key, then press the associated arrow key to move to the left or to the right (Ctrl-Left Arrow or Ctrl-Right Arrow). To repeat the move cursor function to the next word, keep pressing the arrow key (while holding down the Ctrl key) until you reach where you need to place the cursor.

Hot Key tip for today (Outlook series): Have you started an email message and did not have time to finish and you need to come back to it later? To save the unfinished message to the Draft folder area, press and hold down the Ctrl key, then press the S key (Ctrl-S). This will place the message in the Draft folder where you can come back later, click on the message in the Draft folder area and continue typing your message.

Telephony
ENMU Official Cellular Phones:

To activate: Dial * * * and the last external number will be automatically dialed.
