TechTips
Helpful Hints for using ENMU Technology (courtesy of ITS Computing)
Computing
Hot-Key Henry tip for today: While in an application (such as Word),
to quickly close out the current document, press and hold down the
Ctrl key, then press the F4 key (Ctrl-F4). If you have not saved
the document, the system will remind you to save.
Compact Disks (CDRs) are a good way to permanently store your documents
or move from one computer to another. You can save large amounts
of data as it would take over 450 floppy disks to hold what one
CD would hold. If your system has a CD burner, you can use the Create
CD software installed on your system to copy files onto the CD.
As with floppy disk, you must provide the utmost care when storing
or carrying the CDs. The disks cannot be placed where they can easily
be scratched or in direct sunlight.
Telephony
Departing Employees: If you have personnel who are no longer employed
by your department, please notify the Telecommunications Department
at linda.hamrick@enmu.edu
to have the long distance code and/or voice mail deactivated. Long
distance codes should never be carried over to a new employee from
a previous one. Please call extension 2287 for the form to request
a long distance code for a new employee.
