Informal evaluations should not be submitted to the Human Resource Office but should be utilized as a tool to promote interactive employee/manager dialogue related to performance and goals.  January is an excellent time to review previous performance goals and expectations, provide overall performance feedback and adjust goals and expectations if needed.

Managers and employees are encouraged to contact Elaine Ennis, director of Human Resources, or Teresa Villanueva, associate director of Human Resources and Grievance Officer, at 562.2115 with any questions or concerns related to employee performance issues.

General Comments and Compliments

Congratulations to Phil Claubaugh and the Greyhound baseball team for one of the most dramatic comebacks in Greyhound history in a recent game against New Mexico Highlands University. Down five runs in their last at bat with two outs and no one on, they came back to win the game. They were even down to their final strike several times during the comeback.

Wendel's Quote of the Week

"Let's keep an eye on them to make sure they're not over there cheating on the par 5's like we always do."

Fact or Fiction

Waking Sleepwalkers May Kill Them?

Just how big a hazard is it? The chances of killing a sleepwalker due to the shock of sudden awakening is about as likely as someone expiring from a dream about dying. in fact, waking a sleepwalker is more likely to save his or her life.

The answer: Fiction

Hoss, a bright, engaging young man, dreams of becoming a professional chef.  Though he is close to ageing out of the system, he has not give up hope that the right family can be found for him!  Hoss is slow to trust adults in particular, and he would benefit from a family who will allow him to “be himself”, while still providing structure and unconditional love and acceptance.  Hoss has a beneficial relationship with his mother and an older sister that needs to be maintained.   Hoss would really do well in a family that enjoyed outdoor activities such as camping and fishing.  Only licensed NM families will be considered for Hoss.  Please contact Scott Temple at 505.476.5403 or scott.temple@state.nm.us for more information.
