Dear Dr. Gamble,

I am a racing greyhound owner and I am thrilled to see you have chosen two greyhounds to be your mascots.

Greyhounds are handled by people since birth and unlike any other dog they stay together for at least 18 months, some longer if they go to the same track to race. They are well socialized with humans and other greyhounds.

I'm sure you have some e mails from the radical anti-racing groups like PETA and Grey2K asking you not use these dogs as mascots, but, these groups know nothing about adoption as they do none of that.

The greyhound industry is like any other segment of society so we have some bad people, but probably in the same percentage as any other segment of society, very small.

If you think of the dogs as puppies it may help you out as to what to expect. If they haven't been in a foster home they won't know how to do stairs or know what a pane of glass is. They learn fast and if you keep them warm, their thin skin and lack of fur makes them get cold faster than a different breed of dog, they will be great mascots for you. Many adopters have coats and even PJ's for them.

I believe Candy Beck is involved with this and she is a wonderful person and will be a great source of information, about the dogs, should you need it.

If I can ever be of any help to you I would be more than happy to answer any questions you have.

Thank You again for adopting two of our great dogs
