10 Resources Every ENMU Student Should Know About

1.Human Resources

You may not think of Human Resources as the number one place to go on this list. However, they can be beneficial to your needs as a student. Do you know your Title IX rights? HR is a great place to learn more about what rules are in place to protect you.

2. Post Office

Did you know you can sign up for a free P.O. box? Well, you can! You can apply for a free P.O. Box online today in your ENMU Student Portal using the simple instructions on the postal webpage. You can accommodate all of your postal needs and ask any questions you may have at the Post Office, located behind the Campus Union Building on South Avenue K next the Blackwater Draw Museum.

3. The Writing Center

Is writing your kryptonite? The Writing Center is available for students to receive feedback on their essays, papers or other writing assignments. Located in the Jack Williamson Liberal Arts Building, the friendly staff creates a judgement-free zone to improve all styles of writing. The online writing lab also provides helpful feedback that can bring that essay up two letter grades.

Taking online courses? No worries. Eastern provides help with writing for online students, too: http://www.enmu.edu/academics/colleges-departments/college-liberal-arts-sciences/department-languages-literature/special-programs/online-writing-lab-owl

4. The Alley/Tutoring Services

ENMU's tutoring services are located in "The Alley," named after what used to be a downstairs bowling alley in the Campus Union Building. The basement has been remodeled to enhance students' learning experience by providing tutoring services and more. Struggling with a class? Try going here before dropping. You might even pull up that grade in time!

5. Golden Student Success Center- Opening in Fall 2018

The Golden Student Success Center will provide students with the opportunity to enhance their learning experience like never before. The newly-renovated building, which was previously named the Golden Library, will have upgraded study areas, student employees and staff to point you in the right direction and comfortable areas to chill with your friends. Want to start that research paper, but don't know where to start? The library staff will gladly assist you in finding all of the resources you need.

6. Counseling Services

Mental health is important in college. If you are struggling with stress, depression or the anxieties of being away from home for the first time, Counseling Services is here to help. They want to help you feel you best while you do your best. Don't be afraid to reach out and schedule an appointment. They love to encourage and support students while pushing them to achieve their goals.

7. La Casa Health Services

Feeling under the weather? La Casa Health Services are located next door to Curry Hall, across from the Administration Building. Their awesome staff will do their best to help you feel better and send you on your way. They can even give you a doctor's note for missing classes. All you need to do is schedule an appointment.

8. Career Resources

Looking for a job? Wonder what opportunities are out there beyond college? Look at ENMU's career resources. You can find tips on the career resources webpage for touching up your resume or making yourself look more appealing to potential employers. They also announce career fairs on-campus and off-campus, so you can learn more about local opportunities. For all of your career related questions, career resources can help.
