This is her first position at ENMU.
University Printing Services is comprised of Duplicating and Printing.
Duplicating involves making copies of documents for professors, staff and students. Printing involves making posters, flyers, handbills, business cards, etc.
"As a Duplicating Specialist, some of my job functions include supervising student workers to ensure jobs are duplicated according to the request submitted, completing the jobs through ASANA and email, pricing the duplicating jobs, entering data into Interfunds and MachForms, mailings and other duties as assigned," Debbie said.
She says she has enjoyed working with the staff and students.
"I am happiest when I am learning, so the job is not only challenging, but rewarding," said Debbie, who has an associate degree in business administration and general studies from Clovis Community College. "The mailings have been the most challenging aspect of the job. It is so different than any of my other work experiences. As time goes by I am learning and it becomes less of a challenge."
Before arriving at ENMU, Debbie worked with the North Central New Mexico Area Agency on Aging for 15 years. This agency worked under the New Mexico's Department of Adult and Long Term Services, which provided services to men and women over 60.
"We were a flow-through agency that ensured that entities receiving government monies met all state and federal requirements--such as fire inspections, environmental inspections and financial obligations," Debbie said.
Before that, she worked at Furr's Supermarket for 23 years as a market associate.
Debbie was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, but moved to Clovis when she was 3. Her father worked for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway, and her mother worked at several supermarkets and owed an upholstery shop.
Debbie, married with a son and daughter nine years apart, also has three grandchildren "who are the joy of my life."
She has four siblings--two sisters and two brothers, all whom live in Clovis.
"We had a fairly large family. Although times were hard, as young children we had a happy and carefree life," she said.
Debbie, who enjoys crafting projects and reading, says there are several courses she is interested in taking at ENMU—especially ones that would enhance her job skills.
Debbie's top priorities in life are "God and family."
She is an active member of Amvets, serving as the 1st vice president of the ladies auxiliary.
"It is an honor for me to give back to all the veterans and active duty men and women who have given so much of themselves," Debbie said. "This keeps me very busy, but it is a cause that is dear to my heart."
Debbie, who plans on working at Eastern until she retires, likes what she has seen on campus so far.
"Everyone I have met has been so nice and helpful," she said. "The atmosphere here is so positive.
"I look forward to working with all the faculty, staff and students to help create an environment that helps everyone achieve their goals."
