Student Spotlight: Katlyn Rasco

Katlyn Rasco came to ENMU from Hobbs, New Mexico. She is a senior social work major and is involved in many different activities on campus.

Rasco came to Eastern as a transfer from a small community college and enjoys everything that ENMU has to offer.

She came to Portales because she wanted to experience the amazing staff and faculty. She enjoyed the school so much that she soon became involved in the Greyhound Sound and Symphonic Bands.

Her involvement in the music program came from her passion for creating music. Although she is not a music major, she has continued to become more involved with the music department.

Rasco currently serves as Treasurer for the Beta Lambda Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi, a music fraternity here on campus. She says that her involvement in the fraternity has opened a new experience with Eastern that she never thought possible.

"Through Kappa Kappa Psi I have created many new friends and experienced a bond that is unlike any other. I am proud of my chapter and am extremely grateful for everything they do," said Rasco.

She spends her free time keeping busy with Kappa Kappa Psi. If she is not involved with one of their events, she is either attending other events around campus or just studying with friends.

She plans on using her degree in social work to help others who cannot help themselves. She has "always wanted to help those in need" and believes that this degree will lead her in the right path to do so.

Overall, Rasco enjoys her time here at ENMU. She loves the people and finds enjoyment in the immense amount of school spirit Eastern has. She says that Eastern has great energy and is definitely a unique school.
