PORTALES--The Social Work Program at Eastern New Mexico University has announced its accreditation by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) through 2012.
CSWE is a nonprofit national association representing graduate and undergraduate programs of professional social work education. The Council for Higher Education Accreditation has recognized CSWE as the sole accrediting agency for social work education and accreditation is reserved for select programs who meet high quality standards of education for academic programs in the area of Social Work.
Eastern offers social work courses at Mesalands Community College in Tucumcari, Artesia Workforce Center, ENMU-Portales, ENMU-Roswell, New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs, Carlsbad, Clovis Community College, Cannon Air Force Base, and ENMU-Ruidoso. These courses are delivered using a combination of in-class instructional television and the Internet, in conjunction with twice per semester face-to-face, student-faculty gatherings. Coursework is combined with practical field internships.
ENMU’s innovative Bachelor of Science in Social Work Program courses are offered evenings and on Saturday for students with work or child care responsibilities during weekdays.
