PORTALES—Eastern New Mexico University fine arts students Charlayne Heselton and Helen Perry are displaying their artwork in a show titled Dynamic Contrast in the Runnels Gallery in Golden Library on Dec 8–11 on the Portales campus. The closing reception will be from 3–5 p.m. on Dec. 11.

Heselton is a mixed media artist who uses sheet music collaged into her work and focuses on portraits of musicians. She is exhibiting her bronze sculpture of an actual horn and a bronze mask of her face attached.

Perry works in painting and sculpture. According to Albert Calderon, Runnels Gallery manager, Perry’s work has lots of movement and she paints with an aggressive brush stroke using a bright palette. She is featuring her piece “A-Cycle” made from newspaper and formed into a tree-like sculpture. It was selected to be displayed in the Whatever juried student show earlier this semester.
