PORTALES—Eastern New Mexico University educators are looking for children struggling with reading.

Kathleen Donalson, Dan Greathouse and Shona Thomason are looking for children in second through sixth grade.  Parents who are concerned about their child’s reading abilities may volunteer their child.

Parents and children will benefit from the study by obtaining information about their child’s reading and instructional recommendations. Those recommendations give specific reading strategies based on the data-driven assessments to plan an individualized reading program. The packet provided to parents may be used for interventions at home, student assistance teams (SAT), and/or classroom teachers.

Students who participate in the free testing will be eligible to receive one-on-one tutoring at the ENMU reading clinic this summer.  Space is limited.

For more information, contact Donalson at 575.562.2922 or e-mail Shona.thomason@enmu.edu.
