PORTALES--The Kappa Sigma Fraternity at Eastern New Mexico University will sell cow drop tickets from now until March 13.  Proceeds raise money for the ENMU Foundation and the Fisher House Foundation.

The ENMU Foundation provides scholarships to Eastern students. The Fisher House Foundation assists soldiers’ families who are aiding their veteran to rehabilitate by giving them a place to live while they are helping their loved ones recuperate from war injuries.

How does the cow drop work?  Depending on the number of tickets sold, there will be an equivalent amount of squares put on the grounds of the ENMU rodeo arena--each square corresponding with a ticket. A cow will then be released into the arena, and the fraternity will wait until the cow does what a cow naturally does.

After the cow does its business, the judge will determine what square the pie dropped in. The person who bought the square that has the pie in it will win $1,000, and eight squares adjacent to the winning square will win $50.  The rest of the proceeds go to the ENMU and Fisher House Foundation.

For more information, or to buy a ticket, contact any member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, stop by the Kappa Sigma house located at 227 S. Ave. K in Portales, or contact President Rob Wachter at 575-693-9452 or Grand Treasurer Ryan Jackson at 575-441-2934.
