PORTALES – Eastern New Mexico University will host Elizabeth Wade’s faculty voice performance titled “The Things We Do for Love” at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10, in Buchanan Hall in the Music Building on the Portales campus.
Wade, instructor of music, will perform songs from American cabaret which create a dialogue about one woman’s journey of love. “My biggest challenge was imparting a sense of effortlessness in extremely challenging rhythmic and melodic passages,” says Wade, who is also playing a lead role in ENMU’s “The Mikado” on Feb. 17-20.
The audience will be treated to songs which “are not ones you hear much and they are all highly entertaining,” according to Wade.
The event is free and open to the public.
