PORTALES--Eastern New Mexico University in Portales will stream live audio of its spring commencement at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, in Greyhound Arena on Eastern's home page (www.enmu.edu) and KENW-TV will broadcast it live on digital channel 3-3 (standard definition). That signal is available to over-the-air viewers in Clovis/Portales, Ft. Sumner, Tucumcari, Hobbs/Lovington, Artesia and Roswell, according to Duane Ryan, director of broadcasting.
There are 484 graduation applications for the spring and 69 for the summer - all of whom are eligible to participate in commencement.
The commencement speaker will be New Mexico Senator Tom Udall.
The Spring 2011 Academic Honors Convocation, for students receiving graduation honors, will be at 7:45 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, in the Campus Union Building.
The nursing program will honor 33 nurses completing their BSN degrees during the Pinning Ceremony at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 13, in Buchanan Hall in the Music Building.
Also on Saturday, in the south gym in Greyhound Arena, a commencement reception will immediately follow graduation. The ENMU Alumni Association sponsors the reception for new graduates and invites family, friends, faculty and staff.
All events are free and open to the public.
