PORTALES—The Blackwater Draw National Landmark, operated by eastern New Mexico University in Portales, is hosting “Technology of Prehistoric New Mexico” on Saturday and Sunday, June 25-26 at Blackwater Draw, six miles north of Portales on Highway 467 (one mile north of Oasis State Park). The public is invited free of charge. Activities include pottery demonstrations, cooking, hide-working, flint-knapping, Yucca sandal-making, atlatl throwing and many other traditional skills.
