PORTALES—Eastern New Mexico University in Portales is hosting its Dawg Days freshmen and transfer student orientation on Saturday-Tuesday, Aug. 20-23.
Faculty and staff volunteers will help new students move into residence halls from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
Other highlights that day will include a barbecue and community fair at 6 p.m. on the Dallan Sanders Memorial Plaza at the Campus Union Building, a pep rally at 7:30 p.m., a movie from 8-10 p.m. in the Campus Union Ballroom, and fireworks from 10-10:30 p.m. outside.
Sunday highlights include an ice cream social at 3 p.m. and a hypnotist at 6 p.m. in the Ballroom, and a live band at 7 p.m. on the Sanders Plaza.
Monday events include the “Capture the Greyhound” scavenger hunt from 1-4 p.m. across campus to help students learn where different departments and buildings are, a comedian at 6 p.m. in the Ballroom, and a foam party/DJ dance at 8 p.m. on the Sanders Plaza.
Tuesday events wrap up with awards from 1-2 p.m. in the Ballroom, and “Dawg Park,” a water park with food and games, from 2-5 p.m. on the Sanders Plaza.
