PORTALES – Eastern New Mexico University is hosting a Chinese New Year's Banquet at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 3 in the Campus Union Ballroom on the Portales campus.

Chinese New Year is the most important festival in China, known as "Spring Festival." The Year of the Dragon promises to be a spectacular event at ENMU. As the fifth of 12 animals in the Chinese horoscope, people born in the Year of the Dragon are "imaginative, decisive, self-confident, curious, generous and romantic."

ENMU has a number of international students from China who will share their culture. Performances include Chinese traditional folk dance, traditional instruments, singing, chorus by American students, delicious food and much more.

The banquet is open to the public. Tickets are $15 each, and must be reserved with payment by Friday, Jan. 27.
