PORTALES—Eastern New Mexico University in Portales has announced the juried results of the 3rd Annual K through ENMU Juried Youth Art Exhibition as part of National Youth Art Month in March.

The Runnels Gallery (located within the ENMU Golden Library) received over 150 submissions to this year’s exhibition.  “We are very excited to see growth in this year’s event,” said Bryan Hahn, Runnels Gallery manager.  “The jury panel had a difficult task in selecting artworks for the exhibition; all of the submissions were unique and excellent in their own way.”

The exhibition was free to enter and open to students in kindergarten through their senior year of college that were within 50 miles of Eastern New Mexico University.  Students in public school, private school or homeschooled were eligible.

“This is a great event for young aspiring artists to get involved with,” explains Hahn.  “Young artists are given the opportunity to experience what a juried show is like, how it feels to have their work displayed in a professional gallery, and the experience of selling their work if they so choose.  The exhibition also gives an opportunity for the community to see what our young artists are producing; there are some great things happening artistically among our youth.”
