ENMU Hosts Superstition Art Exhibit

PORTALES – Eastern New Mexico University’s Department of Art will present the national juried illustration exhibit titled Superstition from Tuesday, April 3, through Friday, April 27 in Runnels Gallery of the Golden Library on the Portales campus.

Runnels Gallery follows the Golden Library’s hours and all exhibits there are free and open to the public.

A closing reception will be held on Friday, April 27 from 5-6:30 p.m. in Runnels Gallery and is free and open to the public.

Social, cultural, political, gender and sexual superstitions are deeply engrained into the lives of many people. The scope and belief of superstitions can be so powerful that they govern people’s daily interactions, practices and choices. The aim of this exhibition is to feature illustrations that offer personal narrative surrounding superstition.
