ENMU Regents Approve Operating Budget

PORTALES—At its meeting this morning on the Portales campus of Eastern New Mexico University, the Board of Regents approved an operating budget for the Portales campus of $51,672,000 for the 2012-13 fiscal year—an increase of 1.7 percent.

Undergraduate tuition will increase 3.01 percent to $1,462.20 per semester for residents on the Portales campus, and 1.01 percent for non-residents to $4,217.40 per semester. 

For graduate students on the Portales campus, resident tuition will increase 3.01 percent to $1,678.20, and non-resident tuition will increase 2.54 percent to $4,515.00. 

Fees will increase 8.99 percent to $712.80 for undergraduate and graduate residents and non-residents.

The total increase for tuition and fees for the 2012-13 fiscal year is 4.90 percent, or $101.52 per semester for in-state residents. 

In addition to tuition, a $5 per credit hour fee was approved for all online courses.  This is one of the lowest fees for online courses in the nation.

Room rates for the fall semester on the Portales campus will range from $1,465 to $2,018.00.  This semester they ranged from $1,401 to $1,972.00.  Board (meal) rates will range from $702.00 to $1,580 per semester.  This semester they ranged from $672.00 to $1,514.00.

On July 1, ENMU employees on the Portales campus will receive a two percent increase to their base salary.

It was also announced that the spring commencement speaker will be Dr. Jose Garcia, Cabinet Secretary of the New Mexico Higher Education Department.
