PORTALES—Eastern New Mexico University will host the Spring Choral Concert at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 3 in Buchanan Hall of the Music Building on the Portales campus.
It is free and open to the public.
The choir’s spring program will be a musical celebration of New Mexico’s centennial and will feature the ENMU choirs with guest vocal soloist Kim Josephson, who has performed over 200 times on the Metropolitan Opera stage.
Also performing will be the Eastern New Mexico Children’s Chorus, directed by Heather Vest.
Josephson will sing the bass solo in Dave Brubeck’s Earth Is Our Mother.
Also, he will teach a master class on Wednesday, May 2 from 3-5 p.m. in Buchanan Hall.
The ENMU Choir finished their spring New Mexico tour by performing at Albuquerque Academy, Bosque School and Santa Fe High School. The tour culminated in a performance of Brahms’ A German Requiem with the Santa Fe Symphony.
