ENMU Hosting Technology of Prehistoric New Mexico

PORTALES—Eastern New Mexico University will host the “Technology of Prehistoric New Mexico” on Saturday, May 5, at the Blackwater Draw National Landmark (“The Clovis Site”) six miles north of Portales on Highway 467 (one mile north of Oasis State Park).

It is free and open to the public.

Gates will open at 9 a.m. and demonstrations will run from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Activities will include pottery demonstrations, cooking, yucca fiber working, flintknapping, yucca sandal-making, atlatl throwing and many other traditional skills.
