PORTALES - Eastern New Mexico University’s Department of Music will host the Eastern New Mexico Children's Choir at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, in Buchanan Hall of the Music Building on the Portales campus.
It is free and open to the public.
These 23 singers, ranging in age from 8 to 13, have been preparing since the end of January to perform works from artists Ogden Nash, Mark Twain, Edna St. Vincent Millay and Henry Wardsworth Longfellow.
Collaborative artists from ENMU include Tracy Carr, oboe; Joseph Flores, percussion; Sara Maynerich, flute; Richard Hall, bassoon; Emery Edwards, vocal; and Susan Hargreaves, vocal.
Eastern New Mexico Children’s Choir began in 2010 and is under the direction of Heather Vest, with Heather Christensen as the choir’s collaborative pianist.
