PORTALES–The Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU) Department of Music will present a showcase recital of 11 singers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 31, in the Vickie Wilks Wisian Recital Hall at South Plains College (SPC) in Levelland, Texas.

The program will include a performance by Swanee Singers, a select group of ENMU music majors who sing in varied styles, including vocal jazz, blues and popular music. Selections will include "Take the A Train," "Fascinatin' Rhythm," "What a Wonderful World" and "That Lonesome Road," along with three other familiar tunes.

The ensemble is under the direction of Jason Paulk, ENMU director of Choral Activities, and is accompanied by Kayla Paulk, ENMU instructor of music, vocal coach and accompanist.

Interspersed between the ensemble arrangements will be arias and art songs, sung by three senior voice majors at ENMU: Nicole (Keeling) Flores, SPC graduate, Audra Methvin, SPC graduate, and Kelly Vigil, native of Albuquerque. Each will sing two pieces from their senior voice recitals from the 2012 fall semester.

Mrs. Paulk will accompany the soloists.

The performance is free and open to the public.
