PORTALES–The Department of Music at Eastern New Mexico University is presenting "Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi" at 7 p.m. on Feb. 14-16 and at 2 p.m. on Feb. 17 in Buchanan Hall of the Music Building on the Portales campus.
Sung in Italian, translations in English will be projected above the stage.
The beautiful music of Giacomo Puccini will be sung by 29 ENMU music students. Puccini composed these operas, a tragedy and a comedy, to be performed together and the contrast makes for a truly enjoyable night at the theatre. The superb cast has prepared well and promises a memorable night of singing and acting.
