PORTALES–Eastern New Mexico University is hosting a presentation on "Negro Baseball Leagues" at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 25, in the Sandia Room of the Campus Union Building on the Portales campus.
It is free and open to the public.
The presenter is Byron Motley, a filmmaker, photographer, musician, author and lecturer.
His presentation will focus on how the Negro Leagues not only affected African-American History, but American history as well. Motley's film on the subject was produced by PBS. His book, "Ruling Over Monarchs, Giants, and Stars," will be available for signing.
The event is co-sponsored by ENMU's Multicultural Affairs and the Associated Students Activities Board.
