PORTALES—The Human Rights Film Series at Eastern New Mexico University presents "Weapons of Mass Deception," a film by Danny Schecter, at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 13, in the Sandia Room of the Campus Union Building.

Films are free, open to the public, and followed by discussion.

According to Dr. Doug Morris, film series coordinator, "Weapons of Mass Deception" (95 minutes) is a comprehensive and devastating critique of the TV news networks complacency and complicity in the US attack on Iraq…it is brilliantly argued and scrupulously documented…a must see for those hoping to gain a deeper understanding of the ways in which powerful media work to distort reality and shape the public mind in the interests of power and aggression. The film's tagline is illuminating of the content: 'Think you can trust the media? Think again!'"
