ENMU Hosting Annual Science Fiction Lectureship on April 11-12

PORTALES – The 37th Annual Jack Williamson Lectureship on Thursday and Friday, April 11–12, at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales welcomes science fiction Grand Master Joe Haldeman, award-winning author Connie Willis and science fiction authors from across New Mexico.

The Lectureship honors late ENMU professor and science fiction pioneer Jack Williamson.

Events begin with a reading by Haldeman at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, in Room 112 of the Jack Williamson Liberal Arts Building.

Friday morning features readings by visiting writers from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Sandia Room of the Campus Union Building. The Lectureship luncheon (reservations required, $10 payable at the door), begins at 11:45 a.m. in the Campus Union Ballroom. Books will be available for purchase and autographing by writers in attendance.

Friday afternoon from 3-6 p.m., authors and guests will discuss topics in science fiction and fantasy in Golden Library's Special Collections.

All events are open to the public. Only the luncheon is not free.
