PORTALES – Eastern New Mexico University's School of Music presents its annual Spring Choral Concert on Thursday, March 7 at 7 p.m. in Buchanan Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

The university's two choirs, the University Singers and the Chamber Singers, under Dr. David Gerig, conductor, and assisted by faculty and student instrumentalists, will perform. The 45-member University Singers, a non-auditioned ensemble open to all ENMU students, will sing the first half of the program. The auditioned 22-member Chamber Singers will conclude the program. Both choirs will perform a variety of sacred and secular works, some of which are thematically related to the season.

The ENMU choirs perform four major concerts each year, the last of which is usually a performance of a major work. In April the University Singers and Chamber Singers will combine to perform Carl Orff's major work, "Carmina Burana."
