PORTALES—This year's Jazz Fest, under the direction of Chris Beaty, will be March 9–10 at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales. It is free and open to the public.
The Bert Dalton Trio will be featured at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, in Buchanan Hall of the Music Building. More details about them can be found at http://Bertdalton.com/.
The Jazz Fest continues at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 10, on the Mainstage of the University Theatre Center with the ENMU Jazz Combo, followed by Los Angeles jazz trombonist/singer Scott Whitfield with the ENMU Jazz Ensemble. Whitfield's Web site is at http://Scottwhitfield.com/.
There will also be clinics and performances from 4:30–6 p.m. on Friday, March 10, with jazz ensembles from Gallup High School and Clovis High School performing in the University Theatre Center.
