RUIDOSO – Four ENMU-Ruidoso students have completed the area's first year-long building trades training program offered jointly by ENMU and the Lincoln County Home Builders Association. Students completing the program are Leola Montes, Johnny Vazquez, Anthony Garcia and Wesley Kern.

Graduates earned a certificate of occupational competency in framing, foundation and footings, construction math, blue print reading, and interior/exterior finishes skills. The program completed a 1490-square-foot-site-built home in Rancho Ruidoso Valley Estates under the direction of instructor John Kluthe. Building materials and subcontracted services were purchased from Lincoln County material suppliers and contractors.

The home is now available for sale to the general public through Century 21 Real Estate and the Multiple Listing Service in Ruidoso.

ENMU-Ruidoso and the Home Builders will offer the building trades program again next year for up to 10 students beginning Aug. 19 for high school seniors, out-of-school youth and adults interested in skill training and eventual employment in the building trades industry in Lincoln County. Registration for the class will begin on July 8.

Open house for prospective buyers and the general public will be held on June -1-2 on Crazy Horse Circle in Rancho Ruidoso Valley Estates.
