PORTALES – Ms. Addie Swearingen was recently honored by the Friends of Eastern Foundation and the University with an appreciation luncheon and birthday celebration.

The luncheon at the president's home was attended by Ms. Swearingen's closest friends to recognize her long-time commitment and friendship to ENMU.

Most recently, Ms. Swearingen loaned a portion of her painting collection to the University and made a generous contribution to the University Fund. Over the years, Ms. Swearingen has helped fund over 160 scholarships for Eastern students, donated the pipe organ in Buchanan Hall, the Peter Hurd painting in the president's office, and made numerous other contributions to assist various University departments.

ENMU president Steven Gamble presented Ms. Swearingen with an engraved gold clock on behalf of the Friends of Eastern Foundation and ENMU.
