ADMINISTRATION BUILDING – The Board of Regents recently approved the selection of Coca-Cola of Clovis as the new vendor for soft drinks on the Portales campus of Eastern New Mexico University.

The transition from the current vendor to Coca-Cola was effective on Monday, July 29. New vending machines have been installed throughout the campus and existing equipment has been removed.

There may be brief periods of time when vending service is not available in some facilities and some minor disruption could occur as equipment is hauled in and out by the two vendors involved. New fountain vending equipment was also installed in the food service facilities.

Vending prices for soft drinks will remain the same under the new contract: $1.00 for 20 oz. bottles and $.60 for 12 oz. cans. A variety of additional beverage selections will also be available in some locations.

The new beverage vending machines will initially be equipped with dollar bill exchangers. However, the majority of the machines will be reconfigured to accept the Silver Pass campus card over the next couple of months. This will also take place with the snack vending machines. Use of the campus card is also being extended this year to include laundry equipment and access control at some exterior doors in the residence halls.

More information about the University's new partnership with Coca-Cola will be shared with the campus community in the near future.

Jill, a communications disorders major, says she is also re-thinking her collection of friends who own Britney Spears CDs, since she is more into Dave Matthews herself.  (photo by Wendel Sloan)
