PORTALES – Eastern New Mexico University's Office of Native American Affairs has decided to bring back the Miss Native American Pageant for the first time in 12 years.
The pageant will be held Oct. 30 through Nov. 1. The pageant will include: a contemporary competition at 7 p.m. on Oct. 30 in the Faculty Lounge in the Campus Union Building; a traditional competition at 7 p.m. on Oct. 31 in the Faculty Lounge; a public speaking competition at 6 p.m. on Nov. 1 in the Ballroom; and a crowning ceremony at 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 1 in the Ballroom.
So far, eight contestants have signed up.
