PORTALES – The ENMU Alumni Association and the University Bookstore have brought together students, alumni, staff and faculty to design an official ring that ENMU graduates will be able to wear with pride. Students must complete minimum eligibility requirements in order to wear the Eastern New Mexico University Official Ring.

ENMU key chains with mini-ring replicas were presented to incoming freshmen during Dawg Days 2002 to create enthusiasm for the new tradition and establish its mark as a cherished educational and intellectual symbol among ENMU students and alumni. While the key chain design was simply an idea of what an official ring might look like, the official ENMU ring design will be unveiled in the spring.

If you are interested in becoming involved in the official ring program, contact Janice Cowen, coordinator of Alumni Affairs, at 505.562.4251.

The Alumni Association will host inaugural ring ceremonies next spring when ENMU President Steven Gamble will present rings to eligible students. Students who have completed a minimum of 60 hours will receive an invitation to participate in the ring tradition. December 2002 graduates will be included in this initial invitation and are encouraged to participate in the official ring ceremony. ENMU alumni will be invited to participate in the ring tradition after the ring has been officially introduced on campus.

The ENMU ring tradition: It's not just about you; It's about us!
