PORTALES – Eastern New Mexico University has had eight professors honored in the Who's Who Among America's Teachers 7th Annual Edition, 2002.
The professors are: Dr. William H. Brunsen, professor of finance and graduate coordinator in the College of Business; Dr. Mark Daniel Dal Porto, assistant professor of music, piano, and theory; Dr. John H. Humphreys, assistant professor of management; Dr. Donald Morris, associate professor of accounting and chair of Advanced Business Studies; Dr. Merlene Loretta Olmsted, chair of Family and Consumer Sciences and Agriculture, and professor of family and consumer sciences;
Dr. John Francis Olsen, chair of the Department of Music and professor of music, piano; Dr. Robert William Pierce, chair of the Department of Physical Sciences and associate professor of geology; and Dr. Anthony B. Schroeder, chair of the Department of Communicative Arts and Sciences, director of debate and forensics, and professor of communication.
According to its Web site, Who's Who Among America's Teachers was first published in 1990, and was created in an effort to pay tribute to America's most respected teachers. It is a recognition program in the education field where the ultimate consumers of education--the students--have the opportunity and responsibility to honor the teachers who have impacted their lives.
The nation's top high school and college students respectively, are given the opportunity to nominate one teacher who has been most influential during their academic career.
