PORTALES—Six students from Curry and Roosevelt counties have been awarded $1,000 Leadership ENMU Scholarships from Eastern New Mexico University.
The scholarships, which become effective at ENMU this fall, were funded by the 2004-05 class of Leadership ENMU from the proceeds of a golf tournament they hosted at the Clovis Municipal Golf Course in August.
Four scholarships were awarded to seniors from Curry and Roosevelt county high schools, and two to current ENMU students from those counties. The criteria for receiving the scholarships included leadership activities in school and the community—as well as being from Curry or Roosevelt county.
High school recipients are Scott Bouley from Clovis High School, and Chase Acker, Samantha Blackwell and Samuel Obenhaus from Portales High School.
Current ENMU students who received scholarships are Charles Britton, a sophomore theatre major from Portales; and Amber Dalton, a junior pre-physical therapy major who is a resident of Clovis and a graduate of Texico High School.
