ROSWELL – The NM MESA (Math, Engineering, Science Achievement) program is sponsoring two informational workshops for local high school juniors, seniors and parents on Tuesday, March 18. An ACT workshop for juniors will be held from 3-5:30 p.m. in the Goddard High School cafeteria.
Ina Miller will provide comprehensive, in-depth information on the ACT test. Refreshments will be provided by Goddard High School prior to the workshop; however, no food or drinks will be allowed during the session. Students must sign up with Cheryl Deode at Goddard High School or with Rudy De Los Santos at Roswell High School. Students should complete the practice test prior to this workshop. Student must also bring their test booklet, bubble sheet, pencils and paper.
Also, on Tuesday, March 18, an informational workshop will be held on financial aid, scholarships, admissions and other college preparatory requirements in the Goddard High School Little Theatre from 7-8:30 p.m. Ina Miller and Jan Randall will provide detailed information to juniors, seniors, parents and other interested community members. They will cover financial aid, scholarships, admissions, and other important college preparatory subjects. The one-hour presentation will be followed by a 30-minute
question and answer session.
NM MESA, Inc. operates a regional office on the ENMU-Roswell campus. The office oversees school sites in Carlsbad, Portales, Roswell and Ruidoso. NM MESA prepares students for college majors and careers in Mathematics, Engineering, Science and related fields. The program provides pre-college math, science and engineering activities and education for students in grades 6 through 12 statewide. Currently, NM MESA serves 5,000 students in 91 schools and 30 school districts.
