Humorist to Speak at ENMU

PORTALES—Humorist Gail Hand will speak at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales on Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 10–11, on "The Power of Laughter" and "Laughter and Leadership." Both presentations are free and open to the public.


"The Power of Laughter" presentation will be at 8 p.m. on Feb. 10 in the Campus Union Ballroom. "Laughter and Leadership" will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Feb. 11 in the Campus Union Zia Room. The first 100 people who RSVP for it will receive a complimentary lunch.

Ms. Hand was reared in both New York and California, and is a professional speaker, comedian and writer with a successful 20 years in corporate sales and management. She received degrees in marketing and buying and
merchandising from Fashion Institutes in San Francisco and New York City.

According to her Web site, Ms. Hand honed her sense of humor through living in a body cast for a year as a teenager. Since then, she has competed in over 35 sports, eight of them at a competitive level. She utilizes her years of acting, improvisation and comedic training to deliver an uplifting, inspirational look at the power of laughter. Her presentation is sponsored by ENMU's Student Activities and Organizations.
