PORTALES – Eastern New Mexico University announced the addition of a Lifelong Wellness course for the second summer session, beginning June 30. ENMU Employees, who can take the class for free with the standard employee tuition waiver, can start a healthier lifestyle and get in shape without having to leave campus. The new program is designed to improve the wellness of adults ages 30 plus. For those who "fit" the bill, seniors ages 65 and older can take the class for just $5.
Anyone 30 or older can enroll in the course; on-site registration will be offered June 30-July 3 (the first four days of the class), from 6 a.m. - 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. in the Wallace Maxwell Physical Activity Center (MaxPAC) exercise center, located downstairs in Greyhound Arena, Room 88. In order to take this class, employees must apply for admission, but all necessary paperwork will be available during registration times.
Class participants can use the MaxPAC facility anytime on Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. until 8:30 p.m., with the added bonus of personalized weight training in the MaxPAC from 8 a.m. - 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. Enrollees can also use the Natatorium, Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 p.m. during open recreation or Lap Swim, Monday through Thursday, noon - 12:50 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Class participants have the convenience of "working out" anytime during the open hours listed above. In order to fulfill class requirements, participants are only required to work out three times per week.
Employees are invited to join the first Lifelong Wellness class today! Interested parties can expect to see this new exciting course expand to other course in the fitness areas specially designed for adults 30 and older.
