RUIDOSO--A special weekend workshop for public school educators addressing
the education of indigenous or native people will be offered Oct. 10-12 at
ENMU-Ruidoso.
The one-credit course is designed for students with large Native American
student enrollments. Topics to be covered include school operations,
leadership, community relations, cultural and language influences, school
report cards and others. Parts of the Public Law 107-110, the No Child Left
Behind Act of 2001, will also be covered.
The cost of the course is $26 within the Ruidoso School district and $30
outside. Registration can take place by phone, fax, in-person or on-line.
The course begins at 4 p.m. on Oct. 11 at the ENMU offices, 709 Mechem
Drive.
