PORTALES—Eastern New Mexico University is offering a course on terrorism beginning on Monday, Oct. 25, for the second eight-week session of the fall semester.

Terrorism has been a hot topic since Sept. 11, 2001, and students at Eastern will now get a chance to examine this timely issue from a political science point of view.

Dr. Daniel Acheson-Brown, associate professor of political science, will offer the "Terrorism" course from 12:30-3 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Definitions of terrorism and the historical development of terrorism are among the issues to be covered. The class will also examine the causes of terrorism, counter-terrorism and government responses and case studies in terrorism, including Baeeder Meinhof, Direct Action, Al-Qaida and terror in Iraq.

For more information, contact Acheson-Brown at 505.562.2923. For registration information, call 1.800.FOR.ENMU (562.2175 locally).
