ENMU to Host Annual Peanut Valley Festival

PORTALES--Eastern New Mexico University will host the annual Peanut Valley
Festival on Saturday, Oct. 25, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 26, noon
to 5 p.m., in the Campus Union Building.
The Peanut Valley Festival is an arts and crafts festival devoted to one of
the most important agricultural products in the United States. The Festival
is as a tribute to the Llano Estacado peanut farmers in the area, and has
grown into a statewide event.
The children's Carnival will include a train ride, climbing rock,
and inflatable fun house.
Free flu shots will be given in the lobby of the Campus Union, and ENMU
organizations will host an informational fair on the Dallan Sanders Memorial
Plaza.
Entertainment will be in the Ground Zero Coffee Shop from noon to 5 p.m. on
Saturday. Performers include the Nata Raja dancers, Andy Mason and Brackston
Taylor, plus other local acts.
